20 Lakh Reinstated: Check If You’re Back on List 2026

Around 20 lakh women wrongly dropped from Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana have been put back on the active list after district-level re-verification, according to Women & Child Development Minister Aditi Tatkare. If you were one of them, you can confirm your status in under a minute using three official methods — the eKYC portal OTP test, the applicant dashboard, or a quick lookup at your Anganwadi centre. Here is exactly what to check, and what to do if the money still has not reached you.

What Actually Happened — A Short Timeline

When the WCD Department ran its first big audit in early 2025, roughly 26.34 lakh accounts were flagged as doubtful. Some were genuinely ineligible — around 14,000 male applicants had slipped in, along with duplicates pulled from Sanjay Gandhi Niradhar Yojana and Namo Shetkari Mahasanman Nidhi. But a much larger chunk, close to 24 lakh women, got caught in the net by mistake because they misread a single Marathi declaration on the form about government employment.

After district officers went through the cases one by one, nearly 90% of suspended accounts were cleared. Of the women wrongly flagged over the government-job question, roughly 20 lakh were found genuinely eligible and placed back on the rolls. Minister Tatkare then extended the eKYC deadline to 30 April 2026 so the remaining women still have a way to fix their records.

3 Ways to Confirm You Are Back on the Active List

Method 1: The 30-Second OTP Test (No Login Needed)

This is the fastest check and it works even if you have forgotten your portal password.

1. Open ladakibahin.maharashtra.gov.in/ekyc in any browser
2. Type your 12-digit Aadhaar number and the captcha shown on screen
3. Tick मी सहमत आहे (I agree) and click ओटीपी पाठवा (Send OTP)

If an OTP lands on your Aadhaar-linked mobile, your name is on the active database — that alone is proof. If the screen shows “हा आधार क्रमांक यादीत नाही”, you are not currently in the list and need to take one of the escalation steps further down. Skip this method if your mobile is not linked to Aadhaar, and use Method 3 instead.

Method 2: The Applicant Dashboard (Full Status Detail)

When you want to see more than a yes or no — for example, whether the April payment has actually been released — log in directly.

2. Enter your registered mobile number, your case-sensitive password, and the captcha
3. Click Applications Made Earlier (यापूर्वी केलेले अर्ज)
4. Read the Status column against your application

Method 3: Anganwadi Sevika or Setu Suvidha Kendra

If you don’t have internet, or your Aadhaar mobile number is old, walk to your nearest Anganwadi centre with your Aadhaar card and Application ID. The Sevika has a Correction Module inside the Nari Shakti Doot app that pulls your live status in under two minutes. Setu Suvidha Kendras run the same official terminal. In tribal belts like Nandurbar, Gadchiroli, and Dhule, where OTPs often fail to arrive, this is the route that actually works.

Will the Pending ₹4,500 Actually Reach You?

Getting your name back on the portal is step one. The money only lands when your bank side is ready too. Many women have been shocked to see “Disbursed” on the dashboard and still find an empty account — the reason is almost always NPCI DBT mapping, which is a separate process from ordinary Aadhaar seeding.

Run this three-point check before you start worrying:

1. eKYC is complete — the OTP test above is proof
2. Aadhaar is seeded to your individual savings account — check at uidai.gov.in → My Aadhaar → Bank Seeding Status
3. NPCI mapping is active — if seeding shows Inactive, visit the branch and ask for the “Aadhaar Seeding and DBT Linkage Form” (Annexure I)

When the payment does arrive, it shows up in your passbook or SMS as MAHABAHIN or DBT MMLBY. Many women scroll past it thinking it is some other credit — save the SMS as your receipt.

If Your Name Is Still Missing

Don’t open a fresh application — that flags both records as duplicates and delays things further. Do one of these instead:

• Call 181 with your Aadhaar and Application ID ready; most helpline complaints resolve in 7–10 working days
• File a written grievance at grievances.maharashtra.gov.in under Women & Child Development → Ladki Bahin Yojana, and save the Reference ID
• Visit your District WCD office (Zilha Parishad) with your acknowledgement receipt — they hold override access for rejected cases

Three Traps to Avoid

• Don’t reapply. A fresh application on top of an existing one locks both.
• Don’t pay anyone. Every stage of this scheme — the form, eKYC, reactivation — is free. If an agent or operator demands money, report them to 181.
• Don’t open WhatsApp links claiming to be the eKYC portal. The only working address is ladakibahin.maharashtra.gov.in/ekyc. Copycat sites use .org, .com, or misspell ladkibahin without the “a”. Check the URL letter by letter.
